The American Song Contest – the overseas version of the ESC – will premiere on Monday 21 March 2022, with the two-hour prime-time extravaganza to be broadcast on NBC from the United States.

The competition will feature original musical productions representing all 50 states, five US territories and the nation’s capital, with artists competing for the title of Best Original Song in many spectacular shows. Each state will be represented by an incredible solo artist, duo or band, performing a new original song celebrating the diverse styles and genres found across America.

The live competition will consist of three qualifying rounds, followed by the semi-finals and the final Grand Final, where one state or territory will emerge victoriously.

The American Song Contest is produced by Audrey Morrissey, Anders Lenhoff, Christer Björkman, Peter Settman, Ola Melzig and Gregory Lipstone, and produced by Propagate’s Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens. The series is produced by Propagate in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Details of the American Song Contest will be announced soon…
