Eurovision Song Contest 2026, Vienna, Austria – After an 11-year hiatus, the 70th anniversary Eurovision Song Contest will once again be held at Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle on May 16, 2026; in this article, we’ve compiled the most important information about this year’s final.

In 2026—following JJ’s victory in Basel with his contest entry—the European Broadcasting Union and the Austrian public broadcaster ÖRF will host the world’s most-watched and largest continental music competition, the Eurovision Song Contest, for the third time. A total of 35 public broadcasters entered contestants in this year’s contest.

In accordance with tradition and the contest rules, 10 of the 15 performers competing in each of the Tuesday and Thursday semifinals advanced to Saturday’s Grand Final, where they were joined by songs nominated by the broadcasters of four of the Big Five countries (the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy) and the host country, Austria.

During Friday evening’s jury final (Evening Rehearsal), the professional juries representing the countries participating in this year’s song contest have already cast their votes; the results will be announced at the end of the show, which begins at 9:00 p.m. Central European Time on May 16, 2026.

The voting procedure and rules differ from the standard practice used in the semifinals:

  • in participating countries, voting instructions will appear on screen during the broadcast. Voting begins before the performance of the first song in the final. You can vote up to 10 times, and you will have approximately 40 minutes to do so, until the end of the final song.
  • For non-participating countries, voting will again consist of two rounds in 2026: the first round is open to Rest of the World countries from 12:00 a.m. on the day of the final until the start of the live broadcast, and then the voting window reopens from the start of the first song in the final until approximately 40 minutes after the last song has been performed.
