On Monday, Junior Eurovision 2023 Opening Ceremony in Nice was held at Le Negresco hotel – the late afternoon event on 20 November was broadcast live by the EBU and France Télévisions.

The show, which lasted nearly an hour and a half, featured performances from the 16 participating countries, as well as songs from France’s JESC history, including the last 5 French participants performing their own songs: Angélina (2018), Carla (2019), Valentina (winner 2020), Enzo (2021) and Lissandro (winner 2022).

At the opening ceremony of this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, the draw was also held to determine the number of acts France (host of 2023) will perform as well as the country that will have the honour of opening and closing the show on Sunday afternoon 26 November 2023.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 running order – preliminary information

Part of the order in which the children’s song contest will be performed was decided at the opening ceremony on Monday. France, which is hosting the competition for the second time, and its contestant will perform on Sunday (12th). In addition, the EBU and France Télévisions have drawn lots for the opening and closing acts: the show, which starts at 16:00 on Sunday, will be opened by Spain, with the Netherlands duo taking to the stage in Nice as the last act. Once again, the official order of the entire broadcast will be decided by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and France Télévisions producers, and the 2023 productions will be presented in this order on the Palais Nikaïa, and will be premiered by OurVision FM Hungary on its official radio channel from 24 November 2023 at 19:00.
