All about Eurovision Song Contest Turin, in one place – Semi-Final 2 (2022)

Next up for the Semi-Final 2 (2022) – the second round of the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin will take to the stage, TV screens and webstreaming from 21:00 CEST on 12 May; get ready and watch the show with us!

We already know the 10 semi-finalists, competition winners and representatives of the five Big 5 countries that are sure to be finalists. However, the 10 finalist places that remain to be filled on Thursday night are still to be revealed to Eurovision Song Contest viewers. On Wednesday evening, the Jury Rehearsal took place, where each country’s professional jury has already scored the second semi-final competition productions, which will be presented and heard in the following order on 12 May 2022 at 21:00.

Songs and performers of the second semi-final – in order of appearance

On Thursday, 18 of the 36 semi-finalist countries will perform in the second semi-final. In addition to the countries participating in this round, you can also listen to snippets from Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom, and vote for these countries from the Big 5 finalists.

Opening & Interval acts

On 30 April 2022, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the official website of the Eurovision Song Contest and the host Italian public broadcaster RAI published information about the opening act and the interval act of the contest.

In the second semi-final, the presenters of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest will have a slightly bigger role. This time, Alessandro Cattelan, also known as a television and radio presenter, will take to the stage with his production, but while waiting for the results of the vote, Laura Pausini and Mika, two professionals and singers known in different music sectors, will sing a duet.

The semi-finals, however, are expected to be interesting for another guest performance: the male trio Il Volo, representing classical music genres since 2014, will take to the Turin stage again after eight years of waiting. The group will of course be back with the pop-opera Grande Amore, their competition song that was a great success at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna. Although the song finished third in the continental ranking, it returned to Italy as the crowd favourite with 80 points.
